About Us
Jilzan and Adagio whippets is a partnership, between Jill Baum (Jilzan), and LaRee and Keith Johnson (Adagio). We are located in the metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona area.
We are a small hobby breeder emphasizing good temperaments and sound, functional beauty. We show in Conformation and Lure Coursing with great success having produced numerous champions in both areas, as well as several Obedience and Rally titleists, and one herding-certified whippet!
Jill's first whippet and first champion, CH Martincrest's Freckles, was born in 1969, starting a long time love affair with the breed. The partnership with Keith and LaRee began in 1990 with the co-ownership of their first whippet, Tigre (Jilzan Runaround Sue).
Our foundation bitch was Sara, CH Tudor's Quicksilver Serenade CDX, FCh, bred by Pamela Kohl Voute. Sara was a wonderful ambassador for the breed, smart, beautiful, talented, and the best behaved whippet ever. Her beauty, talent and temperament live on in her descendants today.
We have been fortunate to be able to base our breeding program on some classic bloodlines: Stoney Meadows, Surrey Hill, Chelsea, and other wonderful lines. Many thanks to those breeders who have allowed us to used their wonderful stud dogs, and to Karen Bowers Lee (Surrey Hill) for sending Glory and Danger to us!

SEVEN beautiful whippet puppies was born at Jilzan/Adagio.
