Stella *wowed* us in November and December! After earning her Junior Courser certificate, she ran in her first AKC lure coursing trials, held by Desert Fun Bunch on December 5th & 6th, 2009.

Saturday 12-5, she earned her first major by winning Best Of Breed in her first trial and going on to win BEST IN FIELD! On Sunday 12-6, she repeated her breed win, for her second major!

Coursing photos from practice and JC runs, by David S. Cantor.

Stella also made ring appearances in November and January, placing in very competitive open bitch classes every day at the Tucson shows in November, and the Inland Empire Hound Show on 1-8-10.

We are very proud of the fine start to Stella's competitive career! Following in her talented mama Velvet's pawprints, this young redhead is delightful to live with, and a lot of fun to lure course and show!

2-6-10 Stella earns Winners Bitch at the Sahuaro State Kennel Club show!

2-20-10 Stella goes 2nd for another AKC lure coursing point at a chilly and rainy Desert Fun Bunch AKC lure trial!

4-18-10 Despite a couple of spectacular collisions, Stella earns the 4th leg for her SC at the AWC National lure trial. She showed a lot of heart, continuing to run hard after being run over. Photos 10 and 11 show the beginning of one collision sequence (Stella is in the yellow blanket), and her running after getting up from her tumble.
Those photos are by Steve Surfman.
Hopefully her next few trials will go a little more smoothly!

July 2011 - Stella takes in a couple of dog shows, and a trip to the beach!

Dec. 2011 - Stella goes lure coursing, and earns 1 point on Sat. at the DFB trial, and a lovely 4 point major on Sun. at the AZWA trial! 14 points (and 3 majors) down, 1 point to go!

Aug. 2014 - Stella injured her spine badly (FCE) running in the backyard. Five months of intensive physical therapy, laser, swimming, and hard work, and she was very little better. Not able to hold her bowels/bladder, or stand or walk on her own. We had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. Godspeed, Stella, you are loved and missed!
